@Joy,

Hiawassee is actually in the western-most tip of North Carolina, just north of GA.   In NC some are discussing the nuclear facilities in the eastern part  of TN such as TVA, and the potential impact on western NC.

:-) thanks Starr ! yeah, such a nice little beast !  With chains on it that would probably help somewhat...

Up in Norway, around the lake, there´s actually many, many small tractors belonging to the homesteaders there... not at all the huge things we see here - they have to be able to negotiate narrow forest trails, so are quite lilliputian.. I sure wish I´d taken a photo of one... must do, next time.. they even park them on tiny ramps leading from the roads up to haylofts...

What a fantastic little monster truck Malou, except I'm not sure it had 4wd.  I had been looking for a beast like this for quite some time before I sold the house as a great bug out vehicle.  Maybe you can find 1 where you are if you need to.  I know you have your safe place all stashed with goodies but a firefighting beast like this might come in handy.

There is a West African plant called catha edulis that grows all over the world now, having been universally used due to it's extreme resistance to lack of water. It contains cathinone, not caffeine. Unfortunately you cannot make a tea, as the alkaloids must be absorbed through the mucous membranes in the mouth, and sublingually. Dry the bright red tips, shred it and rub it and use it like chewing tobacco.

OK JP, You're way out there with what you expect from many of us, who are trying to just make ends meet while preparing.  I'd be the 1st person to say, waaayyyy cool on this fantastic plane that probably costs a mere 800 grand but really now, you must be more practical.  I certainly intend to thrive without needing such a device although it would be nice. :)
