Mirror Site Host Wanted

One of our Mirror Sites, zetatalk2.com, is losing a host. We are looking for a new hosting arrangement, preferably in S America or Africa as both these continents are light on Mirror Sites. We seek to afford the globe access to the ZetaTalk material even if Internet cables are cut by plate movements or satellite failures.

The US has two sites - zetatalk.com in Virginia and zetatalk5.com in Arizona. Europe has two sites - zetatalk3.com in Moscow and zetatalk6.com in France. Central Eurasia has two sites - zetatalk9.com in India and zetatalk11.com in Kazakhstan. The Pacific Rim and Asia have three sites - zetatalk12.com in Japan, zetatalk7.com in New Zealand, and zetatalk10.com in Australia. South America has but one - zetatalk4.com in Argentina. And Africa has but one - zetatalk8.com in S. Africa.

Hosting a Mirror Site can take many forms. One can commit to paying for the annual expenses so a site can be hosted by an established hosting company. One can provide space and bandwidth on a server if one is in the business and owns a server. Or the Mirror Site team can pay for a hosted site as they do for India, Kazakhstan, Argentina, France, and S Africa at present. The current zetatalk2.com was a freebee on a server, but in future the expense for this could be collected during the annual fund raiser for Mirror Site fees done in the summer.

Could you provide an estimate of how much it costs to host the mirror website in argentina and s. africa?

Our Argentina site, hosted by NutHost, was just paid for the next year and totaled $114. This includes the domain, a dedicated IP (in case the Domain Name Servers are down so people can still reach the site) and hosting.

It belongs to January until December 2014.

S Africa is much more expensive. Around $300 for hosting and dedicated IP, domain is an aside through another registrar. The S African host varies as they compute in their currency but depending upon exchange rate it goes above or below $300 or so.

Here's a map showing both submarine and land-line trunks across and around S America for a particular company called Level3, which is indicating they have a "best practices" award. You can click on the yellow balls to find an ISP provider service in a city. Siting in Columbia, which will do well during the Pole Shift (and sloshing wobbles), remaining above the waves, would be close to land trunks and submarine cables to islands in the Caribbean and Central American.

I am thrilled to report that was not only have this S American interest from casey a. we also have a new African mirror site, hosted by Africa Online out of Namibia. The largest ISP in Africa! All this is in process. Looks like Mirror Site problems solved!
